COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Women Who Care of Branch County raised $7,600 during their August meeting, voting to donate the entirety of the proceeds to the Union City Schools Food Club Program.
This latest donation pushes the philanthropic group’s lifetime community contributions to $454,700 since its founding in 2014.
The alliance streamlines local fundraising by gathering members quarterly at the Insight Coldwater Conference Center, where participants listen to presentations from three local charities before casting votes and writing direct $100 donation checks to the chosen cause.
The organization is now looking ahead to its next quarterly meeting scheduled for November 18.
Local charities and non-profit organizations interested in presenting for future funding must submit their grant applications by October 14 via the group’s website at WomenWhoCareBranchCounty.com/get-involved. Current members who have not yet submitted their quarterly contributions can drop off their checks to Marie Wilber at Nichols Accounting in Coldwater, or visit the group’s official Facebook page at Facebook.com/WomenWhoCare for online payment options and further updates.
