COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The annual Monster Fest is set to make its return to the historic Tibbits Opera House this Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 8:00 p.m..
What has become beloved local Halloween tradition for many, the event promises an evening packed with live entertainment, literature, and cinema.
Matt Biolchini with Tibbits says the night will kick off with high-energy punk music, featuring a performance by the Coldwater-based band Sissy SpaceX, while Battle Creek artist Lanessa Miller creates and sells “Live on Location” paintings of the performance. Following the live music, the theater will screen Peter Jackson’s 1996 supernatural comedic horror classic, The Frighteners.
Beyond the stage and screen, horror enthusiasts can browse the Tibbits Art Gallery for an exclusive book signing with Michigan horror author and professor J.C. Vande Zande.

Vande Zande will be showcasing his Northern Michigan-set Orphan Island horror trilogy, with all three books that are based in Michigan available for purchase.
Doors for Monster Fest open one hour prior to showtime, with standard tickets priced at $10, which includes administrative fees.
Those who attend can enjoy on-site concessions, including alcoholic beverages, as they celebrate the arrival of the Halloween season. Tickets can be secured online through the official Tibbits Opera House Salesforce Portal or by contacting the box office directly.
