ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – An Ohio resident is facing criminal charges after being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana along Interstate 69 in Indiana.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Steuben Superior Court, a state trooper pulled over a 2019 Nissan sedan driven by a driver identified as 24-year-old Hannah L. Dean, at mile marker 353 after observing speeding and an illegal lane change.
Upon approaching the vehicle, the trooper reported smelling marijuana and observing a visible “particulate haze” filling the interior. The driver reportedly admitted to using a THC vape pen multiple times within the hour while driving and subsequently failed four field sobriety tests.
A subsequent search of the vehicle and a pat-down revealed a substantial quantity of suspected narcotics and paraphernalia, including multiple vape pens, cartridges, edibles, pre-rolled joints, and various containers holding suspected THC oil and a crystallized powder.
Dean was subsequently taken to the Steuben County Jail, where she faces up to nine months in jail and a $1,000 fine if convicted.
