COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In response to confirmed measles cases within the jurisdiction, the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency (BHSJ CHA) has announced two upcoming community vaccination clinics scheduled for Thursday, November 12.
The clinics will run concurrently from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at two separate locations:
Camden United Methodist Church at 205 South Main Street in Camden, and Litchfield City Hall at 221 Jonesville Street in Litchfield.
Local residents will have the opportunity to receive the measles (MMR) vaccine, the seasonal flu vaccine, or both.
Attendees are asked to bring a photo ID and health insurance cards if they have them available.
Health officials are emphasizing the importance of immunization amid the local cases to help mitigate severe outcomes. Dr. Karen Luparello, Medical Director for BHSJ CHA. says “While no vaccine is 100% effective at preventing illness, vaccines decrease the potential for serious illness, hospitalization, and death,” Dr. Luparello adds that residents unable to attend the November 12 clinics can still schedule vaccinations directly through the health agency’s office, a primary care physician, or a local pharmacy.
For additional questions regarding eligibility or specific immunization needs, residents are encouraged to consult their healthcare provider or connect with the agencies
