COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education officially hired new Superintendent Kristine Jenkins Wednesday, but also approved a contract at its board meeting with Great Start Collaborative Director Amy Galliers.
Superintendent Joe Lopez said during last months meeting that the BISD would be bringing Galliers on board as a district employee.
The contract runs through the end of September 2018.
The Great State Collaborative of Branch County tries to insure there is a coordinated system of community resources and supports for children under the age of five.
On another matter, the board approved the layoff of robotics instructor Ben Miller, since the Branch Area Careers Center robotics program is becoming part of the Electrical and Automation Engineering Technologies program.
The board also approved an agreement with the Calhoun Intermediate School District for job coach support services, which will run from August 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
