COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education is scheduled on Wednesday to formally approve a contract with Kristine Jenkins to take over as the districts new Superintendent.
The Board unanimously agreed three weeks ago to offer the position to Jenkins who has been serving as the Calhoun Intermediate School District Assistant Superintendent.
Jenkins will take over for Joe Lopez who will be retiring in July.
She has served as Assistant Superintendent of Regional Career and Technical Education for the Calhoun Intermediate School District for the past 14 years. Before that, Jenkins served as an Elementary Principal, grant writer and teacher with the Tekonsha Community Schools.
Jenkins holds a Masters degree in K-12 Educational Leadership from Michigan State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Eastern Michigan University.
Jenkins was one of 15 who applied for the job.
