BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The tournament road ended for the Coldwater Cardinals on Monday night as they were defeated by the Okemos Chieftains 67-46 in the Class A boys basketball regional semi-finals at Lakeview High School.
Okemos used a 12-2 run to take a 19-9 lead after the first quarter. Okemos still led 29-19 at halftime.
Coldwater fell behind by 18, 39-21, in the third before cutting the lead to 43-32 entering the final eight minutes.
Coldwater trimmed the lead to 46-36 but any hopes for a comeback ended with a seven point Okemos spurt which put the Chieftains back up by 17.
Jordan Henry was unstoppable for the Chieftains as he scored a game-high 30 points.
Dylan Targgart led Coldwater with 18 points while Gage McGuire added 16 points as Coldwater finished the season 19-4.
Okemos will face Capital Area Athletic Conference rival East Lansing for the regional title on Wednesday after the Trojans blasted Kalamazoo Central in the other regional semifinal 70-37.
