BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School qualified eight wrestlers for the regionals at the Division Two Districts hosted by Harper Creek Saturday. Four finished in second place. They were Zach Gipple (215), Zoe Nowicki (112), Nick Buchanan (119) and Hamza Muflihi (125). Zach Miller (171) finished third.
Finishing fourth were Marshall Hoard (103), Zeke Nowicki (112) and Carter Hoard (140). The top four wrestleers in each weight class qualify for regionals.
Quincy qualified two for the regionals at the Division Three Districts hosted by Michigan Center. Kevin Hartman (215) and Chandler Locke (152) both finished third.
Union City qualified five for the regionals and one champion at the Division 4 Districts at Bloomingdale, Everett Korn won the district championship at 130 pounds. Brayton Burgett (285), Bradley Russell (119) and Colton Johns (171) all finished second while Nick Collyer (112) finished third.
Bronson had two champions as 10 Vikings qualified for the regionals at the Division 4 Districts at Lawton. Chase Gibson at 215 and Ben Modert at 103 won District championships.
Third place finishers were Alex Arlas (189), Isaac Tappendan (140), Creo Smith (152), Cole Houtz (160) and Justin Blankenship (171). Fourth place finishers were Brendan Withington (119), Roy Wholers (152) and Ruger Ranney (160).
