ALBION, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy bowling teams split their matches on Wednesday with Homer at University Lanes.
The Quincy boys lost a close 16-14 match. Homer powered through their 9th and 10th frames on singles to capture the win by just eight pins. The match saw Quincy come out on top of Baker play with all 10 points as Quincy edged Homer 174-172 in game one and 193-174 in game two. Caden Moore, despite throwing a solid 221 in game one would drop his point as would Brandt Neely with a 201 game. Their totals kept it close for the Orioles who notched points with Tyler Short throwing a 145 and Brodie Mainstone rolling a 176. Cody Neusbaum would chip in 128 as Quincy fell 871-872. A hot start from Moore, who struck the first five frames pushed Quincy to an early lead. More would go on to shoot a 198 capturing his point. Short again scored for the Orioles with a 173. It all came down to the 10th frame as Quincy missed their mark on a few spares and Homer capitalized. The Trojans went on to win 1740-1731 taking the 16-14 win.
Quincy won the girls match 25-5. The Orioles pulled out eight points in baker play, tying game one, winning by seven pins in game two, and capturing overall totals. In singles action Quincy went on to take 7 of 10 single points with Alyssa Milliman (152,152), Madison Wineland (131,142), Peran Reif (159), Carlie McKinley (142) and Daylin Fuler (179) scoring points. The Lady O’s took overall totals 1464-1306.
The future looks bright for the Quincy boys as the JV again came out on top taking all 30 points for the clean sweep. Quincy took baker play 243-203. In singles action it was Quincy outshooting Homer 1357-866. Scores for the night include:
