Carlee Crabtree led all scorers with 19 points and 5 rebounds, while Malorie Rzepka had 9 points and 5 assists. Our McDonald’s Player of the Game, Jayda Kelly, came off the bench to contribute 8 points and 4 rebounds, and Tyler Schied had 7 points and 7 boards as the Cardinals improve to 14-1 overall and 8-1 in the Interstate 8. They remain tied with Jackson Northwest atop the I-8 standings ahead of their rematch next Friday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.

Quincy had little problem with visiting Reading, defeating the Rangers 59-36 behind 21 points and 4 rebounds from Katie Rathbun. Payton Hines had 17 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 4 steals as the Orioles improve to 8-5 overall, 4-4 in the Big 8.

Conference wrestling tournaments dominate today’s high school sports calendar. Coldwater travels to Marshall for the Interstate 8 meet, while Union City hosts Bronson, Quincy, and the rest of the Big 8 schools for their conference meet. Elsewhere, in gymnastics, Coldwater is at the St. Johns Redwing Invitational. And in competitive cheer, Coldwater competes in the Harper Creek Invitational while Bronson will host 12 other schools, including Union City, in its own invitational.
