COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After a week of unseasonably warm temperatures, winter will be making a return as we head into the new year.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Branch, St. Joseph, Hillsdale, Calhoun, and Steuben Counties from 11:00 p.m. Monday evening until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Between two to three inches of snow is expected which could foul up New Year’s Eve plans. You can plan on slippery road conditions and reduced visibilities during the morning commute on Tuesday. Travel could be impacted on Tuesday evening as well. Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling.
In addition, a Wind Advisory is in effect until 11:00 a.m. Monday morning. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected in portions of northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.
The gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could also be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
