COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Patrick Hudson of the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council told the Branch County Planning Commission on Wednesday that they were close to finishing work on updating Branch County’s Master Plan.
He spent several minutes going over the items he still needs to wrap things up.
After the work is done, there is a 63 day review period.
The county’s Master Plan is being updated for the first time since 1993 thanks in large part to the controversy in recent years of proposed wind turbines in northwestern Branch County.
It was called for by the Concerned Citizens of Branch County. The citizens group has been opposed to the siting of wind turbines by DTE Energy.
It’s also felt updating the Master Plan would benefit development and help communities with grant funding.
