BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The cases for two suspects charged in connection with the shooting of a Battle Creek police officer have been bound over to Calhoun County Circuit Court.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports District Judge Frank Line ordered 30-year-old Andre Yarbrough and 27-year-old Heather Arredondo to stand trial following a preliminary exam last Friday which included testimony from officer Jeffrey Johnson, who was shot on Cherry Street November 30, 2019.
Yarbrough is facing charges of assault with intent to murder, resisting police causing serious impairment and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Arredondo is Yarbrough’s girlfriend. She has been charged with resisting police causing serious impairment, harboring a felon and obstruction of justice.
Johnson was shot as police were trying to serve warrants to Yarbrough.
