COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Prosecutor’s Office has refiled an embezzlement case against a former employee of a Quincy car dealership.
46-year-old Katherine Kay Foster of Fremont, Indiana was booked on six counts Thursday at the Branch County Jail. She is free after posting a $100,000 bond. Her arraignment in Branch County District Court is scheduled for January 6, 2020.
Foster’s original case was dismissed last February. Branch County Prosecutor Val White said the prosecutor at that time believed more information was needed. A further investigation by the Michigan State Police led to the charges being filed again.
Besides the charge of embezzling between $50,000 and $100,000, Foster is also facing two counts of using a computer to committ a crime as well as charges of obtaining money under false pretenses, perjury and forgery.
The owner of Bluezers Cruzers contacted Michigan State Police about the case and filed the original complaint in October 2016.
