COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch Intermediate School District Board of Education was busy during its first meeting of the 2019-2020 school year.
The Board approved a 2% wage increase for members of BIO, the Branch Intermediate Organization. It was a financial re-opener allowed in the final year of the current labor agreement, which expires on June 30, 2020.
The Board hired John Herbert as the manager of the reactivated Construction Trades Program at the Branch Area Careers Center.
Education Academy alumnus Kayla Monville will return to lead the Early Education program, now known as Education General.
The Board also hired Resource Room teachers Laura Fowler and Autumn Cousin, along with Early Childhood Special Education teachers Jennifer Grissam and Rhonda Byler.
And no change in leadership during the organizational meeting: Ken Norton will remain Board President for another year, with Vice President Mike Beckwith, Secretary John Bolton, Treasurer Chantal Paxton, and Trustee Bart Marshall keeping their titles and duties.
