COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It may take awhile, if ever, before the cause of the large Wednesday morning fire which knocked down the Coldwater Recreation Lanes buiklding on East Chicago Street in Coldwater is known.
The former bowling alley was in the process of being torn down when the flames erupted and consumed the building.
Coldwater Fire Marshall Steve Trall has received assistance from Coldwater City Police and Michigan State Police during his investigation.
Trall says State Police provided an arson K-9, and that samples from the site will be sent to the state’s crime lab for analysis.
Despite the large fire, no injuries were reported. It took over three hours to put out all of the flames.
Firefighters managed to prevent damage to the nearby building which houses Family Video and Cottage Inn Pizza.
