COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Police say an 18-year old male from Coldwater sexually assaulted an 18-year old female in what officers said was a forcible crime that allegedly happened early this year.
According to police, the suspect identified as Yousef Ali-Mohamed-Mud Ahmed surrendered to authorities at the Coldwater Department of Public Safety yesterday morning. Ahmed was then arraigned in Branch County District Court on charges of unlawful imprisonment, 4th degree criminal sexual conduct, and aggravated indecent exposure with bond on the 3 counts set at $20,000.
Coldwater Police say the alleged incident occurred February 8, 2019 after the suspect got into the victim’s car at a local fast food restaurant and forced her to drive to an undisclosed location where the assault reportedly occurred.
Ahmed is set for return to district court for a probable cause hearing on July 23 with his preliminary exam scheduled for July 30, 2019.
