COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man has been charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor Causing Serious Injury in connection with an two vehicle accident that injured three persons from Coldwater late Friday night in Ovid Township.
According to the Branch County Jail booking sheet, 39-year old Ryan Kiomento of Quincy was arrested by Michigan State Police. A corrections officer said Kiomento was taken into custody on East Central Road near Smith Road where the crash happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
State Police say a 25-year-old woman was flown to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. Two passengers, a 28-year-old man and a seven-year-old boy, were taken by ambulance to Bronson Hospital. Their names have not been released as the accident is still under investigation.
The Lakeland Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance responded to the accident, with firemen staying at the scene until shortly after midnight Saturday morning.
Kiomento was released from the Branch County Jail Saturday after posting a $25,000 bond. He’s due to appear in Branch County District Court for a probable cause hearing July 18 with his preliminary exam scheduled for July 25, 2019.
