COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Quincy man has been charged with Operating Under the Influence of Liquor Causing Serious Injury in connection with an accident late Friday night in Branch County’s Ovid Township.
According to the Branch County Jail booking sheet, 39-year old Ryan Kioento of Quincy was arrested by Michigan State Police. A corrections officer said Kioento was taken into custody on East Central Road near Smith Road where the crash happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday.
The Lakeland Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance responded to the accident, with firemen staying at the scene until shortly after midnight Saturday morning.
Details about the accident have not yet been released by Michigan State Police.
Kioento was released from the Branch County Jail Saturday after posting a $25,000 bond. He’s due to appear in Branch County District Court for a probable cause hearing July 18 with his preliminary exam scheduled for July 25, 2019.
