COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After the City of Coldwater was recently awarded a $196,000 grant to build a modular home as part of a pilot program for the State of Michigan, the Coldwater City Council will be asked Monday night to pass a resolution that would approve the proposed design and authorize city staff to proceed with the ordering and purchasing of the home through General Housing Company of Bay City.
The proposed house would be a three-bedroom, two bathroom ranch style home on a full basement.
It would be energy efficient and with a two-car garage.
Plans call for the home to be installed in late September or early October 2019, shortly after the completion of the Thompson Blvd. extension.
The proposed sale price of the home will be between $187,000 and $197,000.
The home’s buyers may qualify for a MSHDA $7,500 down payment assistance program which would bring down the cost of financing the house.
