COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation. Families with children who had been receiving free or reduced-cost breakfast/lunch at school need to find a way to replace those meals during summer break, so they turn to their local food bank for assistance.
In response to the increased demand, the Branch County Association of REALTORS® (BCAR) recently held their sixth annual “Stuff the Van” food drive luncheon at The Broadway Grille which was co-sponsored by Century Bank & Trust and Branch County Abstract & Title, Inc.
Association members brought non-perishable food items and cash donations which were delivered to the SonShine Ministries Food Pantry in Quincy.
When the vans and trucks were unloaded and weighed, members donated over 2,800 pounds of food and $575.
