CLEAR LAKE, IN (WTVB) – The Indiana Department of Naturral Resources says Conservation Officers are searching Clear Lake just south of the Michigan-Indiana state line for a missing wakesurfer.
Steuben County 911 got a call at 6:42 p.m. Thursday about a wakesurfer who fell, went under the water, and did not resurface.
Divers searched the area where the wakesurfer was last seen, but were unable to locate the victim.
Search efforts are continuing after they were suspended because of darkness at about 10:00 p.m. Thursday night.
The Steuben County Underwater Rescue and Recovery Team which is made up of members from various emergency services is helping Conservation Officers with the search.
Also assisting are the Angola and Fremont Fire Departments, the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, Fremont Police and Steuben County EMS.
