GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The month of March in Michigan was one of the warmest, sunniest and driest on record.
You could remember March 2021 for its higher than average number of sunny days or the fact it was warmer than normal. It was easily in the top five on the sunniest list.
Until late in the month it was also off the “precip-pace”. Only a trace of snow fell on the campus of Western Michigan University leaving that measuring station 27 inches below the seasonal average.
The highest temperature readings came on March 23 with the mid-70s. The coldest was March 1 when temperatures were down in the teens. 24 out of 31 days in the month were above average as far as temperatures go.
