COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The sister of a Coldwater man who was injured Friday afternoon in a house fire on Seeley Street has set up a GoFundMe page to help with expenses.
Jeremiah Witbeck was the only person in his home at 156 Seeley when it caught on fire at about 3:20 p.m.
His sister says he suffered severe smoke inhalation, burns and cuts on his body. As of late Saturday night, Witbeck is in critical condition in a Kalamazoo hospital after being airlifted there. His wife Brittany and four year old son were not home when the fire broke out.
The family lost everything in the fire which caused nearly $220,000 worth of damage.
Witbeck’s sister is hoping to raise $10,000 from the Go Fund Me page. $5,180 had been raised as of early Monday morning.
