HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater got their high school softball first wins of the season as they swept an Interstate 8 doubleheader at Hastings Thursday by scores of 14-6 and 18-9.
Mia Rzepka homered and drove in three runs in the opener. Rzepka and Mallory Kissinger each had three hits. Abby Herman drove in three runs.
Autumn Sunderland paced the Cardinal offense in the nightcap with four hits and five RBI’s. Alyssa Bach added three hits while Mallory Wilber had three RBI’s. Lily Gimenez and Kissinger were the winning pitchers.
Coldwater is now 2-4 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8.
The Coldwater J.V.’s split their doubleheader with Hastings as they won the opener 15-0 before losing the nightcap 26-23.
Quincy dropped both ends of a non-conference doubleheader at Centreville by scores of 16-6 and 18-0. Morgan Michael had three hits for Quincy in the opener including a double and a homer.
