COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Michigan Department of Transportation officials hope work that was performed to the traffic signal at U.S. 12 and Fiske Road Thursday will correct problems which have led to long backups on the east side of Coldwater.
MDOT’s Angie Kremer said in an e-mail to Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker that the signal was upgraded Wednesday and the new signal was not immediately connected to the existing timing technology until Thursday morning.
She said as of 9:00 a.m. Thursday, the new system is now in place with timing that is closer to normal under a temporary permit.
Kremer added that until sidewalk ramp upgrades and pedestrian crossing facilities are completed over the next few weeks and the permanent signal timing is reinstated, there likely will be some delays.
