COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The official groundbreaking ceremony for the Coldwater Community Schools’ new fourth and fifth grade elementary building at 235 Western Avenue will take place next Wednesday morning, April 17 at 10:00 a.m..
The new school building will replace Lakeland Elementary and it’s being built following the approval of a millage and bonding issue in November 2017 by district voters.
Crews have been clearing the property in recent days which used to be the site of the Coldwater Little League baseball diamonds.
Tower Pinkster is serving as the architect for the project, while Owen-Ames-Kimball Company is the construction manager.
Among those scheduled to be on hand for Wednesday’s groundbreaking will be Coldwater Superintendent Terry Ann Boguth, Coldwater school board members, Campaign Chair Doctor David Rubley and Coldwater Mayor Tom Kramer.
The public is invited to attend.
