BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Several hundred elementary and middle school students from around Branch County gathered again at the Bronson Junior/Senior High School Saturday to compete and celebrate their love of science, with the annual Science Olympiad.
Students choose from a menu of individual and team offerings that test a wide array of science areas such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, forensics, anatomy, and astronomy. Administrators, educators, and volunteers serve as event captains and coaches from all local districts.
The goal of the Science Olympiad is to bring science to life, to emphasize problem solving and understanding science concepts, to develop teamwork and cooperation, and provide recognition for student achievements.
Students from both public and private schools in the county competed in the event, which has been going on for almost three decades.
