UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Senior Center Committee has announced the Senior Center Project is officially underway.
The committee was formed recently to collect donations for the purchase of the old Putnam Funeral Home building. They want to bring a multiple use facility to Union City for senior citizens and other residents in the community.
The Village has partnered with the Branch County Community Foundation for the fundraiser and is seeking $150,000 for the building and renovations.
The Village partnered with the Foundation after getting help from them with the Rick Mears Amphitheater project.
Naming rights for the building and the five interior rooms will be available to donors. If you are interested or want the complete rules stop by or call the Village Office at (517)741-8591.
The Village Council decided in January to enter into a contract with the current owner to hold the building while the fundraising takes place.
