COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Director of Public Safety Mark Bartell pointed out in the police department’s annual report that was presented to the Coldwater City Council Monday night that six of their patrol cars are now equipped with the new WatchGuard in-car video system, while all of their patrol cars are now equipped with new computers. He said data storage was a big deal for the department this year.
Bartell said about half of the traffic that used to go over the radio now comes through the computer.
The WatchGuard system stores video in a digital format which makes it much clearer to watch.
According to Bartell, the Department has secure server storage for all the material from this system as well as thousands of digital photographs and audio files.
