CALEDONIA, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball, Coldwater’s Lady Cardinals advanced to their second consecutive Regional Championship game with a 71-68 thriller over East Lansing Monday.
Coldwater opened up a 46-31 lead in the third quarter only to see East Lansing tie the game with just over five minutes to play in the game. The Cards were able to hold their composure and avenged a 54-40 loss to East Lansing in last years’ regional final.
Carlee Crabtree led the Cards with 23 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Samantha Rodesiler added a career high of 19 points and nine assists. Tyler Scheid recorded a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds and Emilee Smoker added eight points and nine rebounds.
Coldwater improves to 22-1 and will face 21-2 DeWitt for the regional title Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at Caledonia High School.
DeWitt advanced with a 54-29 winner over Portage Central in the other regional semifinal on Monday night.
