UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The process has begun to select a new Superintendent in the Union City Community School District.
Pat Kreger has announced his retirement which will be effective June 30, 2019.
The Union City Board of Education formally accepted his retirement request during their February 18 meeting.
Kreger has served the Union City district for 21 years, including the last twelve as superintendent. He previously worked as an assistant principal in Dexter.
The Michigan Leadership Institute will be used by the Union City district to help in the facilitation of the selection process.
They were used by the Quincy Community School District and the Branch Intermediate School District in their recent searches for Superintendents.
The intent in Union City is to have a new Superintendent on the job starting July 1, 2019.
Focus groups and an on-line survey are being used by the board to help them develop a candidate profile and job posting. On line surveys will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon by clicking Superintendent Search on the home page of the district’s web site www.unioncityschools.org.
