JAMESTOWN TOWNSHIP, IN (WTVB) – A teenage girl from Camden, Michigan was killed while another was injured Monday night in a Steuben County, Indiana traffic accident just south of the Michigan-Indiana state line.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, 16-year-old Megan-Sue Rose Johnson was heading south on VanGuilder Road near County Road 660 North at a “high rate of speed” at about 9:30 p.m. when her vehicle went out of control at a curve. It then went off the road, struck a tree stump and rolled over.
Johnson was flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne but later died from her injuries.
A passenger, 16-year-old Winter M. Bradley of Camden, was also taken to Lutheran Hospital by Steuben County EMS after complaining of leg pain.
The accident is still under investigation.
