With temperatures expected to get into the 40’s this weekend, the Branch County Road Commission has announced that Spring weight restrictions on Branch County roads go into effect next Monday morning, March 11, at 6:00 a.m..
Maximum allowable axles loading on all county roads will be strictly enforced starting at that time.The maximum load is 11,700 pounds for axles spaced nine feet or more.
For axles between 3 ½ and nine feet, the maximum load is 8,450 pounds.
The Road Commission says normal legal loads should be reduced by 35 percent on paved roads and 25 percent on concrete roads for all non-exempt vehicles.
Tickets will be issued for all violators.
