HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) -The Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office has filed additional charges against a Jonesville man in connection with a traffic accident that killed a teenager while the youngster was riding his bicycle last June.
The Hillsdale Daily News reports 20-year-old Seth Michael Magda is now facing charges of second-degree murder, reckless driving causing death and manslaughter in addition to the original charge of operating while intoxicated causing death.
An arraignment on the latest charges has been scheduled for next Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
The Michigan State Police say 16-year-old Braxton Petrie of Jonesville was struck by a vehicle on the night of June 19, 2018 on Mosherville Road near Borden Road.
Petrie later died from injuries sustained in the accident at Hillsdale Hospital.
