THREE RIVERS, MI (WTVB) – It was reported to the Community Health Agency Board of Health Thursday that the agency is looking into a reported case of legionella pneumonia that has potential ties to a nursing facility in St. Joseph County.
Director of Environmental Health Paul Andriacchi said his staff assisted the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services with an investigation at the facility to determine if the legionella originated there.
Water samples were collected and there was an investigation into the water distribution system to determine if there were any potential issues.
The results of the water samples are pending and the state agency has not determined if the facility can be linked to the legionella.
