OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A proposed solar panel farm in Ovid Township is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The Ovid Township Planning Commission gave a positive recommendation Tuesday night on a special land use permit request for the proposed solar panel farm which would be located at 540 South Angola Road just south of Warren Road. The property is owned by Thomas Porter.
Ovid Township Zoning Administrator Russell Jennings said the request passed on a 5-0 vote.
According to a public notice of Tuesday’s hearing that was recently published, the solar panel farm will cover about 20 acres of agricultural land.
The Planning Commission’s positive recommendation on the special use permit will be taken up by the Ovid Township Board when they meet Monday, February 11, 2019.
