COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – In boys high school basketball, three Coldwater players finished in double figures and the Coldwater Cardinals remained perfect at home with a 66-55 non-conference victory over the Grand Ledge Comets Tuesday night at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Gage McGuire led the Cardinals with 17 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Dylan Targgart added 15 points and six rebounds while Damon Beckhusen had 14 points, four assists and three steals.
The Cardinals are now 12-2.
Grand Ledge swept the underclassmen games. They won the JV contest 57-42. Aaron May had a game-high 18 points for the Cardinals. The Comets won the freshman game 46-35. Logan Farmer led Coldwater with 10 points.
Quincy 66, Reading 64 (2OT)
The Quincy Orioles had to overcome 24 turnovers as they escaped with a 66-64 double overtime victory at Reading to remain unbeaten for the season. Will Dunn led the Orioles with 26 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots. Caleb McCavit added 13 points while Jordan Nelson added 12 points.
Quincy is now 14-0 overall and 10-0 in the Big 8 Conference.
Reading won the J.V. game 53-45.
