COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The shorthanded Branch County Prosecutor’s Office will be getting some help starting next week.
The Branch County Board of Commissioners voted during their work session Tuesday to bring forward to next Tuesday’s regular meeting a request from Chief Assistant Prosecutor Valerie White to hire a temporary office clerk.
White says the person they want to use recently retired from the Hillsdale County Prosecutor’s Office and would only work 16 hours a week at $20 an hour until the end of February.
There would be no benefits for the temporary worker. She would also provide training for the new criminal clerk who is scheduled to start Monday.
Commissioners also voted to bring forward to next week’s meeting a request to fill the vacant Deputy Juvenile Register position after Brooke Kane accepted a position with the Prosecutors office. They also brought forward a Friend of the Court request to fill the Bench Warrant Deputy position after Jeryn Fredericks accepted the position.
