COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The case of a Coldwater man who was charged in connection with the robbery of a woman January 13 was bound over to Branch County Circuit Court this week.
32-year old Daniel Walters waived his District Court preliminary exam on Tuesday. His Circuit Court pre-trial conference is scheduled for February 11, 2019.
Walters is charged with five counts including larceny from a building and possession of methamphetamine.
He is accused of stealing the purse of the victim who was inside of Snyder’s Laundromat on West Pearl Street.
Coldwater City Police say Walters fled from the laundromat and along the way, removed $236 from the women’s wallet. The money was later recovered along with the purse.
Walters was eventually found at Poly Green Foam on Jay Street hiding underneath a pile of rubber mats and had to receive hospital treatment for hypothermia before being booked at the Branch County Jail.
His bond is set at $250,000.
