GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater firefighters spent a couple of hours on Thursday evening removing insulation from a small pole barn at 1091 Cady Road in Girard Township after a wood boiler caused it to heat up.
They were dispatched just before 6:00 p.m. on a report of a structure fire. But when fire crews arrived, they found light smoke showing from the eaves. Part of the decking caught on fire.
Union City firefighters were called in to help Coldwater crews remove the heated insulation. Lifecare Ambulance was also dispatched.
No injuries were reported and damage was reported to be minimal.
All Coldwater fire units cleared the scene just after 8:00 p.m.
