QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Family members have now confirmed that there was a second fatal victim in a Tuesday morning apartment building fire in the Village of Quincy.
39-year-old David Green died in the fire at 58 West Chicago Street. His 37-year-old wife Amanda Green was severely injured in the blaze, and died after being taken off life support earlier this week.
According to a GoFundMe page set up for the family, the couple between them left behind seven children ranging in age from 13 to 19 years old.
59-year-old Robin Etheridge and 45-year-old Joseph Price were both injured in the fire. Additional occupants in the basement of the building were not injured but several pets did not survive the fire.
Firefighters found heavy fire throughout the first-floor apartment with conditions blocking the second-floor egress.
The Quincy High School football team is accepting donations to assist for funeral expenses and other needs. Two surviving sons of the Greens currently play for the team.
Sunset Cove Resort will be donating $1 per hand dipped cone this weekend from Friday to Sunday, and The Shed in Quincy is having a bake sale as well.
