COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency said on Monday they have been made aware of the deaths of two additional Hillsdale County residents from COVID-19.
Of the 19 deaths reported in the tri-county area from coronavirus, 16 have been in Hillsdale County.
No information was released by the C.H.A. on the latest Hillsdale County deaths on Monday but WILX-TV in Lansing reported that 11 residents at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility have died from COVID-19.
They also reported 20 residents who tested positive are isolated in a COVID-19 wing at the facility. Five staff members who tested positive are recovering at home.
The facility has accounted for nearly half of the Hillsdale County positive cases.
The Community Health Agency says the number of positive cases in the tri-county jurisdiction as of 3:00 p.m. Monday includes 29 cases in St. Joseph County, 115 cases in Hillsdale County and 50 cases in Branch County.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported the 11th coronavirus death in its jurisdiction on Monday. Officials say there have been 204 confirmed cases since the outbreak began with 52 hospitalizations. While 18 people are in the hospital, 90 have been released from isolation while 75 are out of quarantine.
