FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A Fremont, Indiana man is facing four charges following a beating incident Thursday night at the Traveler’s Inn on State Road 120.
The Indiana State Police and the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department were called to the motel where they found a 25-year-old man who had been battered outside one of the hotel rooms.
The man said he had been held against his will, tied up in a chair and beaten.
Information provided to police led them to the room where the beating took place.
30-year-old Joshua Burkey Baughman was found there and was eventually taken into custody.
After he was taken to the Steuben County jail, it was discovered that there was a full extradition felony warrant for Baughman for a parole violation out of Marion County
Baughman was booked on charges of Criminal Confinement, Battery Causing Injury, Possession of Paraphernalia and Failure to Identify. He will remain in custody pending an initial hearing on the matter, and then be transferred to Marion County to answer for the parole violation.
