COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Community Schools free “grab and go” breakfast and lunch program for families of students has received a $1,000 gift from a Coldwater church congregation.
Josh Englehart, pastor of the Agape Center Ministries in Coldwater, reached out this month to members of the church, asking for donations to help the school’s special food program, which was started when classes were cancelled as part of Governor Whitmer’s emergency orders in response to the Covid 19 pandemic.
Englehart used the donations to purchase ten $100 Meijer gift cards, which are being used to buy non-perishables for meals in addition to the food in each of the “grab and go” bags.
So far, a total of 8,824 meals have been picked up at the Legg Middle School and Jefferson Elementary.
