LANSING, MI (WTVB) – On the day Governor Whitmer announced a three week stay-in-place order in hopes of turning the tide in the fight against COVID-19, the State of Michigan released figures which showed there were 1,328 confirmed cases with 15 deaths.
The number of deaths have gone up by seven in the last 24 hours and there have been 293 new cases reported.
The new cases include a third one that has been reported in Calhoun County and three cases in Kalamazoo County.
All of the Calhoun County cases have been reported since Saturday. One of the patients is at Bronson Methodist in Kalamazoo. According to the Calhoun County Health Department, the patient was a resident of the Advantage Living Center in Battle Creek, but so far there are no other confirmed cases at that center.
The first coronavirus case in Calhoun County was announced Saturday morning and was identified as an adult Calhoun County resident with travel history only inside of Southwest Michigan. They are currently self-isolated inside of their home and were last reported in stable condition.
No cases have been reported so far in Branch and St. Joseph Counties. The first Hillsdale County case was reported late Monday afternoon by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency.
The City of Detroit has the most cases of COVID-19 with 411 followed by Oakland County with 329, Wayne County outside of Detroit with 227 and Macomb County with 175 cases.
