BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Although its physical campuses remain closed in Barry, Branch, and Calhoun counties, Kellogg Community College Monday will resume classes that were suspended this week and converted to an online-only format.
“Our campus doors are closed, but our online instruction and institutional operations are very much open,” said Dr. Adrien Bennings, President of KCC. “Our faculty and staff are continuing to deliver education to our Bruins in creative ways and with the expectation that our Spring 2020 semester, which began in January, will continue as scheduled.”
In keeping with state and federal guidance regarding social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, KCC determined this week it will no longer provide face-to-face instruction for the remainder of this semester, which officially ends May 4, 2020. Many classes that began this semester with face-to-face interaction will continue in an online-only format.
However, some courses with hands-on instructional components, such as welding, will be postponed. Students in those courses will be informed of the College’s Incomplete Contract process, which allows them the opportunity to complete their course’s outcomes at no additional cost if certain requirements are met. An incomplete does not affect a student’s grade point average, but it may have an impact on a student’s federal financial aid and credit transfer plans in the long term.

Before the pandemic, KCC was providing education to 4,323 students in the current semester.
Looking forward to its upcoming summer semester, which begins May 11, KCC is currently making plans to offer courses online through the summer months.
