DETROIT, MI. – (WTVB) – Branch County will be well represented during this weekend’s M.H.S.A.A. Individual Wrestling Finals at downtown Detroit’s Ford Field.
A total of 12 Branch County wrestlers will be in the Motor City including regional champions Nick Buchanan (171) of Coldwater in Division Two and Bronson’s Ben Modert (119) in Division Four.
Modert will be trying to win a third straight state championship. He is one of three Bronson wrestlers who got to Detroit. The others are Craig Tappenden (160) and Justin Blankenship (189),
Union City will have four wrestlers competing in Division Four. They are Colton Russell (119), Bradley Russell (125), Garrett Iobe (140) and Grady Iobe (160).
Quincy had three state qualifiers. They were Jacob Reif (103), Gerl Pish (152) and Chandler Locke (171). Tekonsha’s Rodrigo Barron (130) also qualified for the state finals.
