COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was formally charged in a pair of cases during his arraignment on Wednesday in Branch County District Court.
In one case, 30-year-old Justin Michael Veden is facing two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct for alleged incidents involving a girl between the ages of 13 and 15 in Girard Township during March of 2018. He was arrested this week following a Michigan State Police investigation.
In the second case, Veden is facing charges of retail fraud, conspiracy to commit retail and assaulting, resisting or obstructing a police officer in connection with alleged incidents at the Coldwater Wal Mart on the day after Christmas in 2017.
Veden was accused of taking over $1,700 worth of electronics from the store following an investigation by Coldwater Police.
His total bond has been set at $150,000. Veden used to lived in Steuben County. He is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing on March 17th and a preliminary exam in District Court on March 24th.
