COLDWATER, MI – (WTVB) – A Bronson teenager was sentenced on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after he entered guilty pleas in a pair of cases.
18-year-old Gavin McNitt was given an 11 month jail sentence with credit for 252 days already served after he entered guilty pleas to a pair of second degree criminal sexual conduct charges following an incident with a 14-year-old girl last June.
McNitt was also placed on probation for three years under the Holmes Youthful Trainee Act. Two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for his pleas.
In a seperate case, McNitt was given a one year jail sentence after he entered a guilty plea to a charge of malicious destruction of a building between $200 and $1,000. He got 126 days credit for time already served and was ordered to pay $200 in restitution. .
